Molly's Favorite Things and Favorite Moments

Her family
Taught one year olds how to write their names
Showed 70 year olds how to love
She loved her teachers and classmates at Charlotte Avenue School
Brownies and Girl Scouts
Her Godmother and Godfather
Directing talent shows in the cellar-
and finding special parts for everyone
Playing in the leaves and "not" raking leaves
Enjoying the celebrity of being "lactose intolerant"
St. Christopher's CYO Basketball Team
JulieAnn's Batmitzvah
Picnics which she called "hoen-nic's"
McDonald's which she called "Hic-Donalds"
Meteors in November at 4 am
Henry and Alice
Harry Potter with Cassandra
Put baby Jesus in Manger before we went to California,
"He'll have to be early this year"
Touched it if it was hot
Held on, let go
Swam in West Branch of Penobscot in May
Stomping her feet and Slamming her bedroom door
Asked how she could be a Saint, then decided not to
Saying the Serenity Prayer
Watch Godspell with Grandma Kathy
Rode the train to Boston with Papa Charlie

Merry Christmas From Heaven

I still hear the songs
I still see the lights
I still feel your love
on cold wintry nights

I still share your hopes
and all of your cares
I'll even remind you
to please say your prayers

I just want to tell you
you still make me proud
You stand head and shoulders
above all the crowd

Keep trying each moment
to stay in His grace
I came here before you
to help set your place

You don't have to be
perfect all of the time
He forgives you the slip
if you continue the climb

To my family and friends
please be thankful today
I'm still close beside you
in a new special way

I love you all dearly
now don't shed a tear
Cause I'm spending my
Christmas with Jesus this year

By John Wm. Mooney

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven
Where the love of our lost ones pours through
And shines down upon us to let us know they are happy

Inspired by an Eskimo Legend

I'll Lend You A Child

"I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine," He said.
For you to love - while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care or him for Me?
He'll bring his smiles to gladden you,
And should this stay be brief
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I've looked this world over
In search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd
Life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor count the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to
Take him back again?"
I fancied that I heard then say,
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that come
And try to understand."

ok well i know i already wrote once in it but i just want to say how much she meant to me. Well i was friends with her sence 1st grade and we were in writingness together.and i always remember her big smile she always had she was barly ever sad and even if she was she would find a way to be happy. In third grade i remember all the times she would help me and others with things. She always liked to help people. I remember i went to her birthday partys and one time i always remember is the one from 2nd grade we all ran out and got icecream. I miss not doing that anymore. Thank you mrs. fitzpatrick for giving me the picture of me and her. I always look at it to remind me of the birthday parties we had so much fun at. I hope your doing good. Best wishes

My mom works with Mr. Fitzpatrick and she would always tell me how wonderful and pretty his daughters were and i would always ask when i could meet them. She would answer me with soon just wait and you will. I did meet her sisters in the halls of Charlotte Ave, and my mom would ask me time to time if I ever saw them I said yes and told her about how cute both were. I always asked about Molly though when would i meet her? Well I got the terrible news one night at a friends house and went home at that moment with a weight on my shoulders and a tear on my face as I told my mom and watched her in disbelief call nurse after nurse until it was clear...It was true. I know go to Pennchuck and still I go to Mollys garden time to time to ponder about how God can put this apon the Fitzpatricks. There will be not one night i wont go to sleep and say "God bless mY family My friends My pets people in need and people in loss" saying that last verse towards the Fitzpatricks. I still think of how terrible it is of me to have never meet such a wonderful girl and I know that shes looking down upon us with the same tears of fright and happiness and think that those tears will touvch the lives of her family, friends, and everyone brought down by this loss.

Hey molly i wrote this poem for you Molly, We miss how you lighten up our day, And touch everyone's heart in some kind of way, The way you used to smile, When you had done something wrong, The way you used to care, And the love you always had to share, We will remember how you hated to rake, And the way you loved to play with Jake, Going through life with out a friend like you, Is a very hard thing to do, I will remember the day you died, As I look up into the sky... I remember your beautiful blue eyes!!! Golly miss Molly I miss you!!! Love, Laura

As I was given the assignment to write a poem for my Humanities class, my first instinct was to write about Molly. Here is the poem I have come up with: The twinkle in your eyes never seemed to fade/ The sparkle in your smile was always just a glance away/ I miss your imagination, the games you used to play/ The love you had for everyone, each and every day/ Teaching seventy year olds how to love/ And young children to write their names/ Were just a couple things you did before you left that day/ Playing with Alice in the driveway/ On a bright mid-summer day/ Changed my life forever/ The day you went away/ Good golly, Miss Molly, I can’t believe you’ve gone/ Your love will remain forever in the hearts of everyone

The snow is falling. the time is near. the holy child came. to show us how to live each day making sunshine out of rain. He needed you that winter night to spread the light some more So for each of us still living We'll try a little more. We'll open up and lend a hand to anyone in need and remember How one winter night this angel left with speed To give us all a chance to see the perfection of the world The spirit that was left behind by one of God's little girls

I've been thinking about Molly quite a bit lately and how much of a blessing she was, and still is, to everyone. Whenever I think about her I try to remember to smile and look on the bright side of things, not the things that get me down. I certainly believe that she was an angel sent from heaven to teach everyone she met to always smile and be happy for there are many other people who would love to be bearing only what we are bearing. We often take the things in our lives for granted, but we need to smile and thank God, as Molly always did, for what we have in our lives.

I was just playing putting the name Molly in the internet and found this site. It is so nice, but the likeness to my 14 year old Molly is scary. My daughter is a Silver award winner in Girl Scouts, puts on plays in our basement, teaches little kids to read, plays sports, is active in out church and has a genuine love of all people she comes in contact with. Maybe there is a great connection that somehow makes us name certain children Molly. May all who find this site be blessed.

I have just realised the mix up,the simalarities between your Molly and the James van Praagh programme have striking connections, mainly the naming of this website, and that both girls shared the same christian name, this must be very upsetting for you and your family, please accept my utmost apology for mistaking your Molly for the Molly highlighted on the beyond programme,it is almost impossible to put into words how we feel at this time. I am very sorry for the loss of you daughter. Tonight I saw you on Beyond. The website is very nice. I know Molly is very proud. I have added a very wonderful poem, I know you will like it too. Anita They say memories are golden Well maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you. A million times I needed you, a million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to Heaven and bring you back again. -Author unknown

Kathy and Sean, This was just sent to me, and it made me think of Molly. I thought I would paas it to you. Bill Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?" The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it." Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God Care anymore? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?" The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.." Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said goodbye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. "Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked. Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. "I said no at first, but Jimmy said, "Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could." Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, And the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things, back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, Hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep. It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Lying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said: Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room, and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, y'know. Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you goodbye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. "Well, y'know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him-- 'Where was He when I needed Him?' "God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children. "Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore ... and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was Special Delivery! How about that? Signed with Love from: God, Jesus & Me.

Oops...I sent the last entry before finishing typing the poem, let me try this one more time because I automatically thought of you Molly when I read this: Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is a sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it. ~Mother Theresa Thank you Molly, for being you, and for living life to the fullest in a very special way that only you could. Though I wish you were still physically here with all of us I know in my heart that you are not gone. You touch the lives of many and we are truly blessed to have met you. Thank you

I cannot think of a sweeter memorial for little girl. The choice of Edgar Guest's "I'll Lend You a Child" was especially comforting, as it reminds one that we are all gifts to each other from God.

As Christmas was approaching You packed your needed overnight essentials and came to my home. Entering first as always and with the grace that only you possessed, you announced your arrival. Knowing of course you would be summoned back to the car for your belongings. There was no question that it was you who had come in. After your warm embrace and your run down of the conversation and happenings from the car ride we would begin the newly made tradition of baking and delivering the christmas cookies. You would begin with the independence you so demanded. Always finding a better and more unique way to complete the project at hand. As we slowly lost interest from the gang, you were able to make sure excactly what was going on in all areas of the house. Always coming back to the kitchen with complete updates,in a way only to be told by you. As the night arrived and the much anticipated opening of the gifts came you were front and center. As the children ripped through their gifts, you patiently waited until you could present your gift. The joy that streamed through your eyes as you let me know that this gift was special and you, you alone had picked it out. There was no doubt of this as I opened the precious package with the attention it deserved. Little did you know Miss Molly that you had already given me an entire day full of gifts and still do. Thankyou Aunt Sweetie
